Christina's wonderland.

A LOT of crazy things has happened lately....
but I'll begin with last friday. I volunteered to work on a dive boat for four nights.
So I got the privilege of eating, diving and sleeping out at sea for free over coral spawning.
Four dives a day! It was pretty full on with the work between dives but It was truly amazing!
So now I've had about 27 dives at the great barrier reef! I saw so much magnificent marine life!
On my first day on the boat I saw three bottle nose dolphins.
Also saw big + wee turtles, sleeping parrotfish in its bubble of mucus, sleeping leopard shark, a fucking moray(!) and lots and lots of reef sharks. I got within arms length of one on the sand.
My hostie friends + dive masters from japan and barcelona loved getting close to the sharks too.
So that was handy! When I go to barcelona Jordi is happy to show me around and help me out with the language.
Shark feeding was nice and the night dives were pretty cool with just us two. : )
The dive crew gave me quite a bit of shit, constantly joking around with me which I felt uneasy about for example:
I ended up being nicknamed Trouble, Rainforest girl and Princess.
I told the skipper why I missed the morning dive (my flight was in 24 hours) and he said I could've gone cause the new law says 18 hours is the minimum amount of time you have before you can fly after your last dive.
So I did the nine o'clock dive and when I surfaced my gauge read no flying for 21 hours... I approached skipper Pete and he was like - 'why did you dive then?' and the italian dive master said 'well if you feel a bit weird on the plane just tell the pilot to go a little bit lower'. So that was fucked.

My last dive with the Chef was a funny dive.
We descended and exchanged 'okay' signals then I tried pointing out that a sucker fish (long small shark looking fish) was tagging along on his leg. I was laughing under water, so my mask was filling up with water. He checked around his legs but couldn't see it, laughed and me and shook his head. As if I was just a fool playing around with him.
I couldn't stop giggling and smiling about it cause he was so clueless and it was so cute that the fish thought he was a shark. Ten minutes into the dive he must have felt the long fish squiggling around his leg because he completely freaked out and I filled my mask up again from laughing.

I got along with the Chef. He made me feel better by telling me the dive crew only picked on me because they liked me, he let me try out the baked sweets he made for new passengers, lick the chocolate icing bowl and let me play my music in the kitchen. On my last day I watched the sunrise. I really enjoyed my time on the boat...
but was really excited to catch my plane out of cairns.

When I got back we quickly filmed a bit more of the music video.
The next morning I packed my backpack and checked in for my flight two seconds before they were going to close the flight. I've been running late, and lucky for everything so far! When I got to brisbane Madeline my favourite juggs....buddy picked me up. We went to check out the skate shop and I ended up buying the most amazing deck there. It's American Indian influenced with wolves, eagles, deers and owls on it. The boy who served me was such a cutie. He was really helpful with trying to get me the cheapest deal, he even tried to give it to me cheaper but his boss came over to check the transaction out. Ended up getting free cordial though, ha!
Really should've invited him for a roll at The Fairfield Park. But maybe we can be friends if I move to Brisbane one day.

So on Wednesday we went to the Fairfield skatepark and that was so much fun!
The bowl was sweet and there were lots of smooth slopes.
I really enjoyed the skate session. New parks are so refreshing and exciting.
Got sweaty and we felt intimidated (silly I know) by the increasing amount of unfamiliar groups of faces so we left. Then Madeline and I went for Japanese food and beers in the city with her friends. Slept on the bus home and crashed in Maddy's bed.

In the morning Jane helped me strap my board to my backpack and off I was to catch the bus to the Valley.
I met up with Sam who I did hair modelling with for Adam and Eva back in the day. Had coffee and Raisin Toast and then found out Jolene's flight was being fucked around so we had more time to hang out. I wanted shoes so i didn't have to skate barefoot and the first shop we walked into was my solution. Really slim gelati lime vollies for only thirty bucks! Browsed through some trendy boutiques with some amazing stuff and then went to her place in Paddington. Paddington seems to be San Francisco of Australia. It's so hilly and incredible to skate, pavement everywhere! She rode her rad red bike and pulled me along when it wasn't steep. Paddington park was cool!

There is a big mural for Shane Cross at the vert ramp and there is a swimming pool right next to the park. So we fetched our bikinis and dipped in for a swim. It was such a good day! It unfolded so smoothly, we went with the flow and did everything we felt like doing, in an instant. Sam is so picturesque and I love her company! Looking forward to hanging out with her more if I move to brisbane. Before I departed we went for chips and cider.
Swimming, skateboarding and shopping was splendid. Brisbane doesn't seem so bad after all.

So again i was running late but managed to get from paddington to the airport to noosa without a worry.
Jolene and I caught up for most of the bus ride, then I fell asleep and we ended up in a car accident.

The place we are staying in right now at Noosa is perfect. It's so nice, tidy and new.
Also Jasmine; Jolene's beautiful best friend, gave us a few of her passes for surf lessons.
So this morning we went to the beach and Mel(cool lady who surfed with dolphins, pretty much the reason why I booked my ticket for noosa) taught me a number of things.
I caught a wave on the body board and then Jolene and I caught the same wave!
Rollercoaster drives.
Snooza's population so far consists of mostly very attractive surfer men. : o

Learning to surf was fucking fun!
So stoked! I got catching the wave easy and hopping up on the surfboard on the first attempt! Surfed all the way to the sand! I was pretty impressed with myself. After a few on the roll rides my board toppled over by a big wave - side on, it smashed me right into my jaw it hurt a lot.

I would say it all went down hill from there but afterwards I caught my own wave and surfed it. SO COOL! My instructor picked a wave for me to ride, I got on my board and he caught the same wave! It was really awesome! We surfed next to each other and high fived. Sounds so corny but it was excellent! I want to spend most of the remaining of my youth living this type of lifestyle. Jolene was the best of her group which was gnarley. So we are going to get boards tomorrow!
Came home to the apartment and had margaritas and prawns on the beautiful balcony watching the sunset.

Me and Melita.

I'm thinking of extending my ticket.
So I can hang out in brisbane for a bit more and surf at the goldcoast and byron.
