sooo!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, well. I made Treble Choir at region. No all-state for Kirsten. But, you know... i'm really not as disappointed as i thought i would be. I really hated the songs this year. They were REALLY bad. And, i was upset that i would have to actually DO treble choir at the Region Concert, because i really didn't want to be in the "pity" choir of region again, but then i found out a couple of my really good singing friends are in there too, and you know? its not going to be all that bad!
When I told Mr. Quaid about it at Choral Scholars on sunday, he kinda winced at me. Later that night he called me (i didn't pick up my phone) and left me a REALLY sweet message about how i shouldn't be discouraged about region and things that may have happened before hand to affect the outcome and that i should be really happy with were my voice is right now. That really made me feel A LOT better! it was really sweet and completely unnecessary, which made it so much better to recieve!
So. Basically. I will never be an all-stater, and i am ok with that. I really don't think the all-state competitions are the best judge of vocal talent anyways. For some people they are, but for others... Some people have made it, and i just thought... How did they make it and not me? But, it really is more about how good of an blind auditioner you are to a recorded tape (which i am not very good at, and admit it willingly) and what kind of voice the judges behind the screen are looking for. And, you really can't compare my placement with any other voice section fairly, cause it was a completely different room of judges! SO... yeah...
BUT! congrats to those who DO get to go on. *cough* hilary *cough* (I am SOOOO proud of her. She deserves it. ;P) and hopefully cy-fair will have lots of all-staters this year!!!
