I often wear pearls to work, because they look pretty and also because I figure it will confuse some of the sexist men I have to talk to.  That is, when you're being ball-busted by a bossy bitch, you don't expect her to be wearing pearls, right?

Yesterday morning I rose blearily at 6 a.m. as I always do, interrupted in the middle of some sort of dream.  I wish I could sleep till 8. I know that all the human bio rhythm folks say that it's actually 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. that's the important 'be asleep' time but whatever.  I long for the weekends when I can get my 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. sleep time in .

I don't know whether this is going to hit the international media or whatever, but we've had a bit of a rain disaster here lately, so I took the day off work because (a) it's not busy and (b) I couldn't face the commute.  Plus it rained cats and dogs all morning, and I just... didn't feel like it.
