I saw LotR: RotK last night with christinawow and my friend J. It was very good, but long. Times like that are when I wish movie theatres had La-Z-Boys. I'm glad I read The Hobbit this year, though, because it clued me in to several things that happened in RotK. Yeah, shut up. I didn't read LotR; nor do I plan to

if memory serves me correctly, there were theaters with nice chairs to lounge in at tables while being served food at second-run places in tallahassee... anything similar in g-ville?

We used to have one like that--the Cinema and Cafe--but it burned down several years ago and was never re-opened. We're actually down to three movie theatres in Gainesville now (one which no one ever thinks about, two big-name ones, and no dollar theatres). You pretty much have to purchase tickets for any movie far in advance because it's sure to sell out. For a college town, that's lame.

Yeah, we were supposed to see the 2:40 RotK, but it and the 3:10 were both sold out when we got there.
