I saw LotR: RotK last night with
christinawow and my friend J. It was very good, but long. Times like that are when I wish movie theatres had La-Z-Boys. I'm glad I read The Hobbit this year, though, because it clued me in to several things that happened in RotK. Yeah, shut up. I didn't read LotR; nor do I plan to.
Afterwards, we went to Tony & Pat's and were joined by J's boyfriend, P, and her roommate, M. Server 420 was nowhere to be found. Consequently, everything was a little wonky, including the food, temperature, and service. But it wasn't my worst trip ever. I'm just sad that Christina didn't get to Experience the Legend of Server 420. I also forgot to use my gift certificate because Christina paid me back for the movie ticket at checkout and I just used that money to pay for my meal. Oh well, there will be more visits.
We (minus Christina) went to P's house afterwards and watched part of The Blue Collar Comedy Tour (pretty funny) and then Don't Say a Word (plotholes like whoa).
Oh, and before the movie, J and M and I exchanged Christmas presents. J got me a chicken calendar (!) the "new" Sloan CD (I had sooo been wanting it but it was released in August -- but only in Canada and I wasn't about to pay import prices). I ended up getting her a pedometer and a heater (her parents got her a heater, too, which kind of pissed me off). I got M a cool spinning picture frame, but I still felt woefully inadequate when I saw that she went way overboard and got me a chicken clock, a shower clock radio, and a make-your-own-Christmas-ornament set.
And now it's time to feed the kitty cats...
