Summary: Naruto invites Sasuke over for some ramen and a walk!
Rotating the bowls on the table, Naruto grinned from ear to ear, placing both of his hands on his hips as he looked at his set-up proudly. The table itself wasn’t that sturdy, considering one of the legs wasn’t leveled with the rest, but that wasn’t something a hard cover book couldn’t fix! The table was miniature in size compared to regular ones and a person could easily get a splinter from simply touching the surface, but it would have to do, since it was the best one Naruto could find.
At first, he had placed the bowls right next to each other, but just to be sure that Sasuke didn’t get annoyed by that (he would probably move his bowl, anyway), he moved them across from each other, on either side of the table. The lights inside the kitchen were broken, and the sky was starting to darken as night neared, so Naruto had found two candles, plain, wide rounded ones and set them in the middle of the table. He struck a match and carefully lit both of them, shaking it a couple of times after he was done to put out the flame. The room was now dimly lit with an orange glow, a soft atmosphere, perfect for making anyone comfortable!
He bent over his own bowl and inhaled the sweet, sweet scent of ramen, steam rising up to his face. His mouth practically watered with anticipation. He would wait for Sasuke to arrive before eating it, of course! He had enough self-control to wait. Sasuke was way more important than fulfilling his physical needs (such as eating when he was hungry), anyway.
Straightening his back, he stretched his arms out above his head, sore from cleaning Claire’s house. He had worked a little harder than necessary but it was worth it in the end! He had wanted to be sure to do a good job.
This Sasuke had been the same one that had been in Purgatorium before, the one that had killed Naruto during his previous stay. This Sasuke had mentioned something about being a clone, a fake, but Naruto wasn’t sure whether or not to believe him. He had seemed too real to be a fake. If he was, then did that mean there was a chance he, himself, was a fake? Just thinking about it caused Naruto a headache from all the confusion. It didn’t matter if any of the Sasuke’s were fakes, though, because they were still Sasuke, his Sasuke. His best friend. Er. Friends.
He glanced out the window again, his face lighting up as he thought to himself that Sasuke should have been arriving any minute now! Rubbing his hands together, excited, Naruto’s grin quickly faltered when he realized that he had forgotten to take out chopsticks. Panicking, he raced towards his room upstairs, nearly tripping over his feet as he clawed at his hair out of frustration.
