To say that a rock had more expression than Itachi himself would be the understatement of the century. However, it wasn't every day that one could rise from the dead; hence his slight confusion despite having already been warned that no one ever truly stayed dead in a place like this.

Sadly enough, Itachi's social skills were probably on par with a rock's as well. Almost immediately after he sensed her presence (and when she managed to read his expression), his face quickly shifted into its usual disinterested expression as his defenses went up.

When she greeted him, he was stunned to find that he wasn't even really sure about how to respond to her.

"Hello."

He stood there in the midst of the snow with his deadpan expression, studying the girl with his deep red eyes. The sharingan was taking in as much detail as possible and committing it all to memory.

It was still something of a surprise when he encountered other beings. Winged humans or creatures of that sort were not normal to him, but he wasn't going to hold anything against anyone who was different. Back in his world, he knew that the sannin Orochimaru had performed many experiments and dabbled with attempts to become immortal; beings who were experimented on were probably as strange as his world could get. During his battle with Rikku, he acknowledged that there were inhuman or even superhuman beings in existence. As much as chakra made the impossible into something possible, there were beings with powers that were similar or even stronger than he'd imagined.

"I'm..." He paused to consider for just a moment. "I'm alright. I just came back to life."

It actually felt somewhat awkward putting it into words that way, but it wasn't like he had any reason to lie.
