Oh man, do I understand. I remember being all crazy preggo last year and thinking "I have to do this and this and this and exercise and here's my list and..." and I wouldn't get any of it done- or at least not to my standards. I just stressed myself out because I felt like I had some time limit and I had all these goals to meet. I really should have just relaxed and done what I really reasonably could rather than get stressed about it. I'd say it's okay that you're getting winded, just listen to your body, because you ARE working hard despite what you might be conscious of. If you feel like you want more exercise and better food, then do it! But I always feel like when I start getting down on myself it does anything but serve to motivate me. So, I guess I'm saying, take it easy too. Enjoy yourself, and you'll get more exercise when the weather warms up. We all will. :)
Thanks for this. I really WANT to be doing better, especially as I take stock of the last month and see how I kinda let myself go. I should do what you suggest-- do what I can and accept that some things are not going to be done because, well, we're all busy and tired at the end of the day. :-) I'm listening to your voice of experience!
I am so stinking happy about the increase in temperature and hope that it stays this way for a long while. Last night's walk was AWESOME, even with a stiff wind that we were walking into. It's great to feel like my kneecaps aren't going to fall off from cold and Olive enjoys it a lot more too.
Hehe. We have to go find Olive at bedtime to bring her inside these past two days. It's been so warm out that she just wants to lay on the ground and watch what's going on.
In fact, she's waiting at the door for me right now to let her out :-)
As for the being winded, a lot of that might have to do with your organs being squished up into your rib cage, making less room for your lungs to expand.
I thought that I would notice the winded-ness coming on more gradually as the organs got squished more and more. Would it come on that rapidly? It totally makes sense and I've been feeling my stomach being squished recently so that could extend to lungs as well.
Yeah, it can pretty much happen overnight. I've been looking all over the place for this cool site with a flash plugin where you can see a diagram cut-out of a pregnant woman and use a slider to move between 12 (I think) and 40 weeks to see the growth and effect it has on the organs. I visited it weekly with my first pregnancy and have seen it with this one, but for some reason I never think to bookmark it and I can't ever remember what to search on Google to find it!
Have you seen it? If not, I'll pass the link along to you if I can ever find it again - it's cool.
