i want to second the vote on separation anxiety. either that, or she is PISSED that you are leaving her home all day long. our dog olie does spiteful things when we leave him home (like pull my mother's brand new table runner off the dining room table, bringing down the vase of fake flowers, and sprinkling the flowers all over the house and yard; eating her $300 cell phone, etc.)

we usually try to remedy this by making sure that he has a big rolled rawhide chew to keep him occupied.

i also recommend crating her when you're not home... dogs don't like to poop/pee in an area where they have to lay. if she is in a smaller area, where she would have to sit in it, it would help to break her of that nasty habit. in the cage, she should have water, food (if she's a free feeder) a blanket (or an old sweatshirt or something) that has your smell on it, and a chewie or indestructible toy. the blanket with your scent will help with the separation anxiety bit, if she can have something with your scent on it while she is alone, that would help to comfort her. if you leave a tv on for her, dogs usually find the sound comforting too.

put the cage in an area that is actually in the living area of your home, and leave the door open so that she has the option of sitting in there when you're home - it will help to associate the cage as not being a "punishment" when you are gone. our dogs always thought of theirs as being a "den", and would frequently snooze in there :)

hope that helps
