Just an update
Wow...It's been a while since I've posted anything here. Or read anything for that matter. Sorry guys. Been busy. It happens.
In a good mood today. For one, it's my 6th anniversary today. Crazy, huh? Even crazier is that, really, I've known him for 10 years. Really a long time.
I'm also pleased that I've finally been able to sit down and do some more work on 'Path of the Sorceress'. Don't you just love it when virtually an entire chapter just writes itself? I honestly don't know if it's any good, but that can be altered later. Just want to get some at least half decent material written down and then I can edit later.
I'll be going back to Edmonton on Friday. My parents are safely back from China and have been for a bit now. My Grandmother will be up to visit next Monday alongw tih one of my cousins, so I'll be hanging with them. Gag. not that
i don't love my relatives, but my gandma makes me crazy sometimes and this cousin...I haven't seen her in a very long time. Aislyn will have fun, though, with another little girl to play with. Yes, I'm taking the girl with me and only the girl. There won't be room at mom's otherwise. James doens't want to go and I'm not taking Liam with me. He'll benefit from some one-on-one daddy time. That, and it's easier to do back to school shopping with Aislyn if the boy isn't along. It's also a cheaper trip with just one kid.
Edmonton. Also means Animethon. Woo. hoping to go with Stacey, but I'm not sure if that's happening at all now. Looking forward to running into Dom, though, as I haven't seen her in a while. Two years I think.
Hang out with Jared. Replace my fried CDrom drive. Shopping. Yay.
Well, since I haven't posted in a while, most of you are unaware of my dental woes. I broke a tooth on vacation. I went to get it fixed not too long ago and they said they couldn't'. Even better is that two of them are infected. Suck. It would have cost something like $165/tooth to get the buggers extracted since they're impacted or something. Great. I'm fine with the extractions, but since I'm really nervous in the dentist's chair, they figured it would be best to send me to a specialist to be sedated for the extractions. They don't do that in Meadowlake. Buggers.
So now I have an appointment in Lloydminster for the 9th of September. It's a 5 hour drive. Now, that wouldn't be a problem except that they only sedate in the morning, so I have a 9 am appointment. Which means that not only do I have to go down on the day before, but I have to stay on the 9th as well since I can't drive after that. I remember all too clearly what I was like after being sedated to get my wisdom teeth pulled...oh my. That was almost exactly 9 years ago. By the time it gets done, it will be a little more than 9 years since that day. Wow.
Thankfully, my mom in her infinite awesomeness is of the opinion that I shouldn't be alone, so she thinks she might come and stay one night with me. We're not sure yet, but we'll talk more when I go to Edmonton.
I finally have my substitute teacher's certification number. Which means I can call those cheap bastards and get my back pay since it didn't show up in our account last week. it's a large chunk of coin, too, so there's my Edmonton travel budget right there. The down side is that I have to reapply in the fall to get a certificate for the new school year. Whatever. It wasn't hard to do. Just takes a while on their end.
So things are well. Looking forward to the start of the new school year. Looking forward to the TV shows starting up. Dying to know how things from the end of last season are going to play out. Especially in all 3 CSIs and in Supernatural.
It is can be September 4th yet?
Art is going well. Writing is going well. My webcomics are doing well. I think. While the one is a sprite comic, I'm not really sure if my art style is suited to comics. Oh well. I've seen worse drawn comics so I think I'll be ok. At any rate, my art has improved since the last time I tried to comic, so that's encouraging.
Then again, I've seen much, much better-looking ones. I've been very entertained reading webcomics these days. Found a girl webcomic makers group that is massively helpful in my art. They're very supportive, even of my little Sailormoon fan comic thing. My other one (original fantasy stuff) is newer so I don't really have much feedback there. It's a lot of fun and I guess that's the most important thing.
At any rate. I'll shut up and let you guys get back to your lives.
