Okay, so this time they were seriously going to make it, not only to Mystic Falls, but to Caroline's mother's house! Caroline was convinced it would be great - plus she'd run out of entertainment at the lake with all the annoying rain. How dare it refuse to let up after two days when she was trying to make the most of a mini vacation.
As convinced as Caroline was, she couldn't help but feel a slight tension in the car as they pulled up to the house. But then everything became automatic -- parking behind her very own little purple car, noting the squad car in the drive, completely ditching all unloading to run up to the house and obnoxiously ring the bell.
Jake really didn't have a chance here. Nor did she think he deserved any warning after all their combined stalling.
"I know we could just walk in, but this is way more fun," she told him, looking rather pleased with her idea of surprising her mother.
