Being back in Mystic Falls was surreal. It was like no time had passed at all and Caroline had spent the morning running around the high school, sorting out the mess of a Pep Rally Dana had once again been allowed to put together. Lucky for them, she was there to make certain everything was perfect. Caroline totally felt this was further proof she had a gift for taking charge of events.
No matter how much she was attempting to act like the old Caroline who wasn't broken hearted or clearly trying to suppress her feelings, anyone who knew her well enough could spot that something was up with Caroline's mojo, and at the rate her conversations were going, it seemed the entire teen population was set on finding out exactly what that was, to the point of interrupting her all-important money collection.
"Sooo," Dana remarked during a lull in their ticket sales. "Sophie told me Tyler Lockwood totally visited you at boarding school and almost instantly you're back in town for good. Smells like romance in the air!"
Caroline snorted, re-sorting all the bills so they faced the same direction. "Of course that's what you smell. Slutty Sophie probably bathes in pheromones. For your information and for whatever masses listen to you, Tyler and I are just friends." Her boyfriend was way taller. Well, at least the guy she still thought of as hers. God, she needed to either find a way to fix this or get over him.
