Online ordering

This year for Chrimmas I purchased most of my gifts online for people and luckily, I only came across two snags:

1) A friend told me what he wanted and I ended up ordering it for him, little did I know that he also told a few other people he wanted the same thing. I could have been not so nice and just gave it to him anyway and told him that he should deal with it, but instead I am going to be contacting the vendor and making a return.

2) I was going to place an order with Newegg and I selected what I wanted to purchase and went through the checkout process. I ended up hitting a wall when a credit card verification page popped up and asked me for my log in and password. I entered what I thought would be my info and I was told that the information I entered was wrong. I gave up and ordered from another online retailer. A few days later I got a confirmation from Newegg saying that my order had been put through and I should be expecting it to come in the mail sometime before I was going to exchange holiday gifts. I was shocked. I would hope that Newegg would protect my identity from getting stolen and keep fraudulent things from happening. But if not, then I am not interested in shopping at Newegg in the future.

However the story gets better (or worse depending...)

On Black Friday AM (around 2 / 3’ish) I tried to order an item and I hit the same pay wall, where I “ordered the item”, but the credit card verification page wouldn’t let me pass and when I woke up later that morning to try and re-order the item it was sold out. So now, I am even more upset with Newegg because I feel like they are trying to have it both ways. On a regular item it doesn’t matter if the credit card verification system works, they just want to sell the item. But, when it comes to a “door buster” item then they follow their own rules.

Needless to say,I am sending the item(s) back that I ordered from them and most likely, going to be very wary from ordering with them (if ever) again.
