I can't believe things like that happen and there's Americans who don't think the gun laws need changing. Do you know in New Zealand even the police don't carry guns as a matter of course. In Australia they do.

And also - pretty layout. =D

Ooh I know, my mom just brought that up today. Gosh, she was really annoyed when Bush was all making an announcement on the tv, and he was all "I am very sorry for the loss..." and then in the same sentence said, "the government is not the reason why the man got a hold of the guns..." or something beyond those lines. I like Bush well enough, but not one of the greatest statements he could have used.

Hmm I think I might post a poll here asking what people thought about it if the government is to blame that much.

And thank you! I like it because it's all bright and pretty and its something that I haven't used before. :D Plus, it's Phantom of the Opera - gotta love that.

I felt like I was Christine today in Choir, haha I hit the high notes really well. I went from my average, B flat to a high C. I was quite proud of myself.

I don't really like him. But I think something's wrong in America when this keeps happening, because it doesn't happen anywhere else nearly as often.

Hehehehehe. The other day someone asked me to sing this particular song for them because they wanted to know the words, and I started too high (blargh poor foresight lol) but I managed it quite well. =D I was like "yayz!"

Sorry that was vague, I meant I started a bit too high so that when the melody went higher, it was higher than I can generally speaking sing comfortably.

Ooh I know those days, I hate it because I'll be singing sometimes in choir and once in a while - my notes will crack and soon all goofy and I'll be like 'woops!'

I was wondering that today - I was thinking hmm that's strange that in America this seems to happen a lot. Part of the problem, is that we don't have mental hospitals in America anymore - so there's no where really where people who actually needs help can go. My mom works at a hospital and knows very well that they do not provide the help that the patients might actually need ( ... )

Augh, we have this song in choir and it's right over the 'bridge' between my chest voice and head voice (I sing Alto for choir). I try to sing in chest voice where possible because it's louder, but AUGH sometimes the top notes just go shitty.

That's ridiculous. I don't know the situation here, so I can't really comment on that.

I see your point, and I'm also trying to fathom why this isn't as big a deal here.

Possible explanation is that since people have guns, the crims feel they need bigger better guns to assert their dominance. And it could just go on like that - Knife, bigger knife, handgun, semi-automatic, etc.

I remember a while ago there was a big issue with stabbings, so if the crim has a knife and the police some in with a gun, the police have the upper hand. But seriously, crims here have all sorts of stuff - samurai swords, even. Some do have guns though, obviously.

That being said, the whole attitude & laws relating to guns are WAY different here because we've never had the right to own firearms 'just because'. You can if you're part of a hunting club or something like that, you have to demonstrate a need, and get your gun licence and stuff. We've never been in the situation that the USA is in, with their 'gun culture', so what works for us won't work over there.
