When my friend and I went to take the law school admissions test in 1968, we were among the only women in the room. We were waiting for the test to start when a group of young men started harassing us. "You don't need to be here." "Why don't you go home and get married?" One said, "If you take my spot at law school, I'll get drafted, and I'll go to Vietnam, and I'll die." It was intense and personal. I just kept my eyes down, hoping the proctor would come to start the test, trying hard not to let them rattle me.
There was a professor at Harvard Law School who looked at me-a bright and eager college senior, recently offered admission-and said, "We don't need any more women at Harvard." That's part of why I went to Yale.

I believe healing our country is going to take what I call radical empathy. As hard as it is, this is a moment to reach across divides of race, class and politics, to try to see the world through the eyes of people very different from ourselves and to return to rational debate, to find a way to disagree without being disagreeable, to try to recapture a sense of community and common humanity. When we think about politics and judge our leaders we can't just ask, am I better off than I was two years or four years ago? We have to ask, are we all better off? Are we as a country better, stronger and fairer?

Выступление запомнилось шуткой про русскую шапку: "Now, I see looking out at you that you are following the tradition of over-the-top hats, so I brought a hat, too [applause] a Russian hat. [applause] Right? [applause] I mean if you can't beat them, join them."

“I remember a penis being in front of my face,” she said. “I knew that’s not what I wanted, even in that state of mind.” She recalled remarking, “That’s not a real penis,” and the other students laughing at her confusion and taunting her, one encouraging her to “kiss it.” She said that she pushed the person away, touching it in the process. Ramirez, who was raised a devout Catholic, in Connecticut, said that she was shaken. “I wasn’t going to touch a penis until I was married,” she said. “I was embarrassed and ashamed and humiliated.” She remembers Kavanaugh standing to her right and laughing, pulling up his pants. “Brett was laughing,” she said. “I can still see his face, and his hips coming forward, like when you pull up your pants.” She recalled another male student shouting about the incident. “Somebody yelled down the hall, ‘Brett Kavanaugh just put his penis in Debbie’s face,’ ” she said. “It was his full name. I don’t think it was just ‘Brett.’ And I remember hearing and being mortified that this was out there.”

It's the first time in the poll's history that a Supreme Court nominee has been underwater on this question.

Hardiman & Kethledge are open borders zealots. Kavanaugh rejected an employer's demand for "guest workers," saying "mere economic expediency does not authorize an employer to displace American workers for foreign workers.”

Kavanaugh is a very hot topic among accounts linked to Russian influence operations.

Last night, an article about Ed Whelan's false claims aimed at "exonerating" Kavanaugh was the #1 URL & top trending URL (9,900% spike in shares) in the network tracked by @SecureDemocracy... 1/ pic.twitter.com/TCFAcnkCLy

A Russian company accused by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III of being part of an online operation to disrupt the 2016 presidential campaign is leaning in part on a decision by Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh to argue that the charge against it should be thrown out.
The 2011 decision by Kavanaugh, writing for a three-judge panel, concerned the role that foreign nationals may play in U.S. elections. It upheld a federal law that said foreigners temporarily in the country may not donate money to candidates, contribute to political parties and groups, or spend money advocating for or against candidates. But it did not rule out letting foreigners spend money on independent advocacy campaigns.
Kavanaugh “went out of his way to limit the decision,” said Daniel A. Petalas, a Washington lawyer and former interim general counsel for the Federal Election Commission.
A motion filed by the Russian company this week repeatedly cites Kavanaugh’s decision, bringing new attention to his rulings on campaign finance laws and regulations during his tenure on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
Legal experts who have analyzed his work say he appears to fit comfortably within the high court’s conservative majority, which has found that restrictions on campaign-related spending conflict with the First Amendment’s guarantee of free speech. That argument underpinned the seminal 2010 Citizens United case, which allowed corporations and other organizations to spend unlimited sums on independent political activity.

Like I've been saying all along, the Russians don't like or love Trump - rather, they enjoy the internal chaos and the humiliation of the U.S. on the world stage he is causing.https://t.co/jkeotyH4MW
