Fic Recs!
finmefiant recently did a very nice X fic rec with lots of stuff I hadn't read yet, though they were mostly Seishirou/Subaru and therefore I wasn't going to go out of my way to read them or anything (but if I ever get in a S/S mood again, I will definitely check them out first). So I read the lone Satsuki/Subaru fic Meffie had recced, I thought, and I talked to tanuki_dono, who nicely implied that I should stop complaining about the Seishirou/Subaru world and do something useful.
She may or may not have actually meant that, but it's a good introduction to saying that hey, I have some non-S/S, S/K, or F/K recs.
The fics listed are here for a several different reasons. They may have really different pairings, be written very well, have Fuuma/Subaru which is my OTP :3, or...be very funny. I am a big fan of laughing, so I love humor fics. I don't really read angst intentionally, though, unless it's by someone I know is good and like; it makes me laugh inappropriately in the making-fun-of way, and I can't take it seriously enough to really enjoy an angsty fic. I think that's my big problem with Seishirou/Subaru, actually. Most fics are too angsty and stagnant in my opinion, which is a horrible combination (no offense to any S/S fans?).
So yeah. I like new, original, and funny things. Oh, and eyes.
Home Front by sophiap, who has the loveliest name... Gen: "...she remembered what it was like to be a child who was only peripherally aware of the great war that threatened everything she knew and loved." It's a very powerful and sad fic portraying the relationship between Lady Sumeragi and her grandson beautifully :)
Starless by moonything. Hokuto/Subaru. The narration and story itself are very haunting and beautiful.
Transfer Student by harukami. Subaru/Ofuda. I mean, come on, need I say anything else?
So Canon by finmefiant. Seishirou/Kusanagi, because it's canon (and Subaru/Yuzuriha). Anyway, a very funny read, especially the coda, which gets me every time...
Me, Myself, and I by finmefiant. Sakurazukamori!Subaru/TokyoBabylon!Subaru. Not only did it have the most awesome pairing ever, but it was very stylistic which made it seem like looking at art instead of reading words (always a great thing because words are overrated).
Alternative by tanuki_dono. Gen: "What if...?" Beautiful, haunting, and very well written. ...It still makes me crack up, though.
Eye Spy by meyrevived. Gen: "Fuma hands Seishiro's eye over to Subaru...and then Subaru loses it." The last four lines always make me giggle.
Physiotherapy by meyrevived. Gen: "The awakened Dragon of Earth shattered Kamui and now it is time to pick up the pieces." This is a little fic of Mey's that's entirely too overlooked and underrated. Personally, I think it's absolutely amazing and one of her best fics (though I haven't read History yet). Kamui goes through physiotherapy after being hospitalized by Fuuma when he makes his Choice. Really, give it a chance and read!
The Sleep-Over by enVii. Gen: "When a bunch of the Seals [and Fuuma] journey to Seishirou's house for a sleepover, obviously some random, warped stuff is going to happen, and drive him insane even though it got its licence revoked." Yes, I did just rec this XD No really, give it a try. It's so randomly funny.
Become by hinikuish. So many randomly random pairings: "That day, in the hospital, the wrong twin died. That year, in Tokyo, everything was different. Who would have thought a little crossdressing would change so much?" Parron writes beautifully, and this entire story is very amazing (and secretly cracky, but it's so good that no one really notices, haha!).
Darling by hinikuish. Yuuto/Tomoe. This is a beautiful fic, and Parron's narrative is wonderful.
The Stranger by hinikuish. Seishirou/Hokuto. Very stylistic, flowing, and excellent!
Penmanship by hinikuish. Gen: "Good handwriting is important." It's a Subaru one-shot with a unique concept carried out brilliantly.
Of Dolphins by hinikuish. Gen: "Sometimes it's hard to wake up." Subaru and Hokuto. It's a very interesting and eerie one-shot that really makes you think :)
X drabbles by vnilla. She's got a couple of pairings in these, which includes the incredibly awesome Yuuto/Karen one, conclusions, that I love so much (and there's S/S, too, along with Sorata/Arashi). The last one, diagrams, still makes me giggle.
Fuuma/Subaru drabbles by vnilla. Fuuma/Subaru. Considering that this is my OTP, these drabbles make me very happy :3 I especially like the first one.
Ces Larmes Je Pleure by Sakurazuka-chan. Fuuma/Subaru, and that's the sole reason why I'm reccing this. Personally, I'm not too fond of Sakurazuka-chan's fics, but when I find out she was writing Fuuma/Subaru, I got all happy. Haha, I can withstand badteenangst!fic for my beloved OTP :3

Happy Families by insaneidiot. It's Seishirou/Subaru and Fuuma/Kamui, but it still cracks me up, even now. Come on, everyone has to read this one...
24otc's eye drabble. Seishirou and Subaru. Although I've made an attempt to figure it out, the deep and philosophical question this drabble asks will forever haunt me...
Illusory Tandem by tanuki_dono. Seishirou/Subaru. Sakurazukamori!Subaru is in the Tokyo Babylon timeline in a story that is very captivating and intriguing. I so heart "Kiyoshi" in this :3
A Perfect Circle by trenchkamen. I actually wasn't sure where to put this in. It's an odd story with all the usual, mainstream pairings hinted, like Seishirou/Subaru, Subaru/Kamui, and Fuuma/Kamui. There's even a little Seishirou/Fuuma. And it's really strange because the events and whatnot center around Seishirou/Subaru...though they never actually meet in the story. This is one of those stories where I can't just say something quick about it and whatnot. It's very amazing, and I waxed about it here.
The Ballad of Subaru and Seishirou by Shoiryu. "The most romantic story of all time. *Dreamy sigh*" Over three years old, but it always cracks me up.
Non-X Recs I Couldn't Resist
plasticfayness wrote quite the earthshattering Earl (Count) Cain drabble. I can't stop snickering whenever I read this.
Sodden Defeat by Kurai Link. Morpha/Link. Yes, that's right. Read, bitch! :D
Bonus--Random, WTF Rec!
Ionic Bonding Porn still remains the best thing on the 'net.
