"I think he likes you," Hakkai said as they ate dinner, and Hakuryuu kyuu-ed, flapping his wings in Sanzo's general direction. Sanzo just growled and ignored Hakkai and his little pet again. This had been going on for weeks, Hakuryuu and Hakkai's sudden interest in him. Like Sanzo, Goku didn't understand, but Gojyo did, and whatever he understood, he found funny, which pissed Sanzo off even more than the original annoyance. Honestly, dealing with demons was stressful enough...
Gojyo set down his fork and said to Hakkai, "Hey, Hakuryuu's been more restless lately than usual, hasn't he?"
"Hm, now that you mention it..." But this was just in politeness. Hakkai knew full well that the white dragon had been more active lately, and he even knew the reason why, but...
"Everyone get a good night's rest. We're leaving tomorrow morning," Sanzo said gruffly, stealing a glance in the dragon's direction, as he stood up.
"Going back to the room so soon?" Hakkai asked, his mild-mannered tone lilting for some reason as he stood up as well. "I think I might retire, also."
"Ch'" was all Sanzo grunted as he walked off, Hakkai following.
"Hakkai's retiring?!"
"Shut up, monkey."

In the room, Hakkai changed his mind. "Um, now that I think of it, I'm not really tired..."
Sanzo grunted. "Whatever."
"Perhaps I thought I was tired because Hakuryuu was?" Hakkai mused, setting the dragon on his bed. It was a clear lie since the dragon had proved the opposite all evening.
Taking off his robe, Sanzo cocked his eyebrow but said nothing.
"Well, I suppose I'll join the others again, then. Hakuryuu, stay here and get some rest, all right?" Hakkai said as he left the two alone.
The room was quiet as Sanzo laid on his bed, and Hakuryuu peered at him. The dragon kyuu-ed once, and Sanzo told him to shut up. Then, his head against the comfort of the pillow, the monk began to doze.
When he awoke, Hakuryuu was perched on his chest, leering at him. "Get off!" he growled, pushing the dragon off. Hakuryuu didn't stay away for long, though. A few seconds later, he was back, this time on Sanzo's legs, nuzzling his...crotch?!
"What the fuck?" Sanzo growled, pushing and kicking the dragon off him. Hakuryuu hovered in the air above, though, breathing wisps of fire dangerously and returned to Sanzo's crotch...
"Oh shit."

"Oh nothing..." Hakkai answered, trying to sound innocent as he winked at Gojyo. "Hakuryuu's just in heat."
