Update on my dad..
I was about to have him transferred out of Togus last night due to their lack of ability to care for him adequately, when they apparently reached the same decision... After he became unstable enough due to blood loss that he went into v-tach, that is. He was Lifeflight-ed out to CMMC just before 9pm last night. They did a scope around 12:30am or so and found a large ulcer just inside the start of his intestine; they put some medication on it and cauterized it. That seems to have done the trick, as he's not passing blood anymore. My sister and I stuck around until 5:30am, and he was still stable, so we came home to sleep. The nurse told me he recieved a total of 6 units of blood and 2 units of plasma. According to Google, you have about 10 units (or pints) of blood in your body total. Scary. He seemed ever so much better when I visited him today, and I'm bringing Scrabble with me tomorrow to kick his butt : )
