Happy Yule

Dec 22, 2008 21:12

We celebrate Yule, and the good news is that we celebrate on the 22nd, so we get to watch the crazy christmas rush for three days after we are done! The bad news is I have three less knitting days before gifts are due.

We had a lovely Yule morning, Ru was instructed to not wake up the parents until it was light out. We got to sleep until 8 am. Awesome sleeping in for me. We opened our stockings all sitting together on the bed in the main bedroom and cuddled and shared out bounty. We went downstairs to start the turkey and eat breakfast. Ru and Kiyowara made quiche yesterday and it was delicious! On to the Yule tree. Presents were opened and exclaimed over. We got a Wii as a family and it is currently being set up and tried out.

I got a wonderful red merino Argyle sweater - YAY for Argyle. I'm currently in a major argyle phase. I have the red and green argyle toe socks that PurlsbeyondPrice got for me and I got four more pair of knee high argyle socks (commercial ones) so now I'm gonna have to buckle down and learn to knit argyle! Maybe a vest to start with.

Dinner was lovely, Kiyowara had a pretty bad asthma attack as I was cooking, but with inhalers and a nebulizer treatment she managed to keep breathing well enough to not go to the ER. Everything turned out well and then we napped for a while. Perfect!

Happy Yule to all my fellow travelers on the path and happy winter holidays to everyone!

yule, asthma
