I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving already! I'm sooo ready for the break though. My last year of classes is almost half way over! :)
I had an interesting little epiphany a couple of weeks ago. Someone very close to me's little sister died, and it really made me reevaluate life a little. I had been freaking out that Monday about all the stuff I had to do, and once I heard the news, it all just seemed meaningless. It's cliche, but the important things in life really are family and friends. When we look back on our lives, the memories we will have will be of great times with those close to us.
I went to Milford this past weekend to rehearse with the pit for the musical, and just being in Milford made this whole flood of emotions rush in. I realized that I almost completely block out Milford and things associated with it while I'm at school, and it's been particularly bad this year since the only time I've been home all semester was just in passing to drop of my car at my Dad's and go to my cousin's wedding. I know it's a natural part of me growing older and becoming more independent, but I think I need to embrace my past more than I have been. It's my roots, you know?
That said, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner and the opera with my mom. I'm going to be sure to spend time with my dad. I'll see the Milford crew at Starbucks and the parade (right, y'all?). I hope to see my brother and my sister and her family too. For those of you who don't know, Kaden will be a big brother in July!!!! :-D I can't wait!
I am also eagerly anticipating my trip to Chicago for Midwest in December...
