updated ram on my computer of 3 years

my lovely E-machine desktop computer of 3 years ... was in dire need of much anticipated updated ram. 512MB was the standard amount that came with the computer (when i bought it 3 years ago) when in actuality.. only 384MB was being used for 3 years. i caved in and very proudly i might add, i installed 2 GB (only $35.18 from newegg.com) worth of ( Read more... )

Good job! I've never updated RAM in my computer before. Was it hard?

to put it midly... if you've never opened up the inside of your computer before it can be a little intimidating and scary. but its simple. i've opened my computer and a few other computers myself a few times. *i did take the commputer class awhile ago that teaches students how to install computer components and remove parts. very useful*

tip: try not to hit any of the other wires or get caught on the wires when installing or removing ram or any other computer component. if you have to remove some wires to get to where you need to be.. just remember where they go *very important*

aren't you in need of ram as well?

Actually, uh... for Christmas Carol bought me a new laptop... so I've not really touched my poor desktop in a while. It could probably definitely use more ram in my desktop computer, but before I do that I desperately need to take the time to burn everything off of it onto disks.
But where to find the time? *gets smothered in schoolwork* This semester has been insane! Hopefully yours is going better. :) (your semester, that is ;))
