REVIEW: Punisher MAX #74

Welcome To The Bayou ends here. Not that Gischler and Parlov messed up and hurried this out incoherently, it's actually something of a big double issue where Frank is able to finally turn the tables on Big Daddy and his psycho hillbilly squad, and with a little distraction by Nigel, show everybody that they were no match for the Big Pun. Maybe we should've seen that coming by how he had dispatched Earl so quickly on the last issue. The monster that gets hyped here named Junior was a little tougher, but almost predictably he turns to be something of a gentle giant ( but still disturbingly homicidal based on Frank's remarks when he's in his cabin ). And just as soon as Frank saves the day for the remaining college girl that got held up on the cannibalistic hoedown, Big Daddy's flower creeps up on them with a slasher smile that could give even Sherry Moon Zombie nightmares. And to think that was actually the least of Frank's worries!

So the story finally ends there, but we also get treated to a multi-page preview to a double sized special coming next month with various stories and a sneak peek at the new ongoing Punisher MAX by Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon starting in November.

Summer's over and until then we can all rest easy.
