It's the wood that makes it good

I made reference to the super cool birthday present I got from Crock - so here are the photos I promised.

He got me a Crosley Radio Reproduction from Yester Years Radio. I am super in love with it and both of us were pleasantly surprised by the quality of craftsmanship. The wood is just lovely and the attention to detail is stunning.

The reason I had such a desire for this radio is because it was the only one that kept true to vintage styling while still offering up-to-date technology. The top lid opens to reveal a CD player and in the back there are auxiliary out plugs which I am using to plug in my iPod.

This radio has been my life saver since I moved here. I don't have cable TV and was very disappointed to find out that there is no PBS channel in Savannah. So at night I just plug in my iPod, play some of my vintage radio shows and am content, even with my PBS withdrawal (I mean, what am I going to do with out Real Simple, America's Test Kitchen, or...dear god...Mystery?).

Anyway, if you are looking at vintage repro radios, I highly suggest this company. I saw another company's version of this at Best Buy and the quality was absolute crap. And who wants to buy crap?
