Mongia Paagal Hai

Today I read in Delhi Times about a 3 yr. old kid with some amount of cricket knowledge. The kid knows the difference between
'square leg' and 'gully', which a certain well read Sardar (to protect his identity, lets just call him Arunjeet Singh, resident of
71/76 prem nagar, Janak Puri, Delhi) can't claim to know. The kid also remembers the name of players of a particular country.

Now lets compare him to my nephew, Nakul. Till a few months ago, he just knew one sentence about cricket. That was
"Mongia paagal hai". He must have heard this from his dad while watching a cricket match. From that day onwards, whenever
he saw a cricket match on TV, all he had to say was "Mongia paagal hai......". This continued even in the period after Nayan
Mongia left the team and Dinesh Mongia joined in.

As he grew a little, his reactions changed. Whenever you switched on a cricket match he would say "Mongia paagal hai" and
would then turn to you and ask "hai naa????" for confirmation. As if I was gonna say no to that :-)

Don't know much about Mongia being 'paagal' but can definately say that TOI and that kid are definately 'paagal'. ' hai naa
Nakul??'....
