surviving my first year....

I can't believe it's already November. :)

Teaching is great but tough. What shocks me the most is the lack of respect some kids have for teachers. I knew I would have trouble with classroom management--but I didn't realize how mean some kids could be. Experienced teachers say that the first year is tough-horrible-terrible-you think about quitting all the time--BUT if you stick with it--somehow somewhy--it gets better but you don't know why.
I hope that's true.
there are days were I see that it will.
but others that make me wonder HOW and IF it can ever get better.

most of my teaching fellow friends are having similar issues as most 1st year teachers, therefore, I'm going to hang in there and hope that it will make me a great teacher in the end. Tuesday (election day) we had professional development with math teachers from other high schools and I got to hang out with my friends from the teaching fellows--that was a lot of fun.

i have off tomorrow for veteran's day! :) 3 day weekend!! I'm going to start my Christmas shopping! ~ I love this time of the year --from right before thanksgiving until new years--it's one of the happiest times of the year. This time and summer are my fav.
I'm also going dress shopping this weekend for my cousin's wedding--that should be fun--and hopefully going on a double date with Flora & Ray--our double date last week was great! :)
sometimes i feel like i'm in high school again.....especially since I teach there.

I hope everything is going well for everyone! xoxoxo
