how long has it been??
two months i think it's been since i've updated --and let's see so much has happened since then:
I started my new job as a math teacher!! :) and i'm taking two grad classes at brooklyn college this semester. The workload is more than I could have ever imagined. I knew it was going to be tough but I never realized how time consuming lesson planning, grading, organizing, and calling parents was going to be.. and how tiring and frustrating it is to deal with kids who have no respect for you. Basically I have good days and bad days with classroom management. Most teachers tell me that the first year of teaching is hell, horrible, etc. Most days I would say that I am having the true first year experience but there are some moments that make me remember why i'm doing this and i see a glimmer of hope for the future--that it isn't always going to be like this. What's that expression? a journey of a thousand miles began with a single step--that is so true.
Besides the whole craziness with working and grad school, i have been really worried about my aunt who needed to have major surgery last week. I'm soo happy and relieved that she made it throught the surgery and is on her way to recovery. In addition, around the same time, my uncle had a heartache but thank god --he is ok too--even though i'm still worried about him.
happier news: my cousin mike is getting married in june!!! in DISNEYWORLD! I'm so excited and i'm going to be in the bridal party--my first time. :)
let's see I think that covers the major stuff.
I wish i had more free time so i could visit and talk to all my friends more! I miss all my geneseo buds and I feel so out of the loop--i wish that i could visit sooner--but i'm planning on visiting the weekend of dec 8th and for michelle and ashley's birthdays in january! i hope that everyone is having a fabulous semester!
I have so many friends who are soooo wonderful and i have manyyyy new coworkers--22 teachers just in my department!!!! most of my coworkers are great and so willing to help.
It's so hard for me to stay in touch with all of these fabulous people but i promise to try my best ---and i want you to know that i love you and miss you alllll. xoxoxo
