Got back from STL ... Wednesday? what day is it? am still disoriented and confused. Something, anyway. :)
Conference was good - indexing workshop was FANTASTIC - OMG-IwannabeanindexerwhenIgrowup-Good. I think a full-day pre-conference workshop really wiped me out, tho, unless it was carousing till all hours with Fabulous Chatties that night. Yay, mojitos, sangria, tapas, and the City Museum. And cute little goth proms. I woke up the next morning feeling like I'd smacked my head on something, even tho I don't think I really did.
We upheld our reputation at the publisher's Fun Run - which is to say, we dressed up like fools and got a prize. This year's silliness theme was "Spirits of St. Louis" and we wore aviator helmets + goggles, and tshirts with an image of Charles Lindbergh thinking about beer. Next year is in New Orleans - I think I have my work cut out for me there.
I saw old friends & made some new ones. And I met some friends for the first time in person. I had free food, and free drinks, and enjoyed a hotel for a few days. Am now very glad to be back home.
