I've been quietly participating in National Knitting Month (NaKnitMo). Instead of pledging a wordcount like NaNoWriMo, you pledge a stitch count. The "standard" pledge (according to the Ravelry group) was 30K. Sounded like kind of a lot, but I figured there was nothing to lose. Very keen. I've been pondering taking up crochet or knitting lately. I tried knitting back in my teens and only got as far as the potholder/scarf phase, but I've got more time these days and I can only do so much needlepoint before I need something different for a bit.
