Yeah, but despite the many trials, tribulations, and emergency repairs, being a homeowner has its perks. Freedom to make any and all changes as you see fit, equity, increased privacy - I'd take those over the convenience of calling a landlord to fix a problem. Then again, I don't have to try to fix stuff - that's why I have a handy husband. I don't suppose you keep one of those around (say, in a spare closet or a shed out back) to fix home problems for you, so sadly, the work is left to you. You should really look into purchasing a handy husband.

*smirk* Yeah, I think I will pass. That is why I call the repair people. And then as you will see in the next post. They fix it. *grin*

Of course the other big reason we wish we rented is that we could up and move back to TN without any issues. As it stands now we will be here for quite some time until the market rebounds enough that we are no longer upside down on our mortgage.

Yeah, we were worried about selling our house in Cookeville, but apparently the market hasn't suffered much there. And we got lucky - as the realtor was putting out the sign, a couple who'd been looking for a house in our neighborhood for a while drove by, and they saw the house and put in an offer the next day! Definitely good luck!
