I just thought that I’d post to the community to let you know that I’m running a pulp sci-fi strategic PBEM game over on Yahoo Groups called Brave New Worlds that involves a trawl through popular culture.
How to describe it? Well, to date we’ve seen a range of pulp inspired events & discoveries; Russia has the FireFox fighter-bomber - the first application of the cybernetic link, Captain Scarlet saved a city from certain destruction (miraculously surviving his wounds, leading to the nickname ‘indestructible’), Professor Montgomery Scott has invented transparent aluminium, whilst Biff Tannen, the luckiest man alive, was found dead at his hotel casino complex.
Researchers & explorers have unearthed astounding discoveries, such as Triffids from deep within the unexplored Amazonian jungle, to ancient libraries that correspond to description given by William of Baskerville. Scientists have created a range of inventions from the motion sensor & fusion reactors to forcefields & the sonic screwdriver. On top of all this, players have to deal with the usual friction between nations, not to mention the first ever extraplanetary crisis, given Moonbase Alphas discovery of a black monolith, buried millennia ago.
In case anyone's wondering where this message is going, I’m recruiting players for some vacancies I have open, so consider this to be an active attempt at a plug!
If you’re interested in having a light-hearted approach to future history, and I hope you are, then please follow the link below for a quick tour & ask for an invite.
