Ladies and gents, what an auspicious day today, August 13th, is. Know why? Twas' upon this very day, 365 and a quarter days ago, a certain Mr JHD Orlin of The Northern Suburbs Of Joburg, Joburg, Sefrica, having departed for shores a-foreign some hours before, arrived in Taiwanarnia, a small poop-shaped island just off the coast of Imperial China ( Read more... )

Since I am not yet evolved to a point where I know how to enter anything but an anonymous entry into these bloggy things, I will sign my name at the end. So that's something to look forward to, isn't it?
Gosh-gee-golly but how time she does fly - a whole year (well, more now). I must say you are looking more and more Taiwanese as the time goes by, it must be all those fungi. By the way, if you think it's tough teaching dinosaurs to Taiwanese kindy kids, try teaching all aspects of the glorious British Constitution to 7 spanish, german, russian, and indeed even one Taiwanese adolescant! I know, I know, I know...that's my response.
Since I've been enjoying my Summer vacation (with a trip to a war zone thrown in for variety), I've hd the time to do important things like catching up on your blogging. And, just so you'll know, I did actually read your Temple-Whoring in Cambodia emails. :)
Anyway Ja...saying hi and sending you love and toasting some organic peppermint tea with a splash of soya milk and a drizzle of honey - to the next year(s), may you have one in each colour.
xxx Maya

So excitement that you blogged a reply. Hopefully I'll turn you into an attention-grabbing, albeit anonymous comment whore and have you sprouting witicisms/commentary/speel checking on my every word.
Now, to get down to business...
1) Britain has a constitution? How thoroughly modern of them. Who knew!?!?!?!
2) Summer vacations are a must for all teachers. It's a perk of the job. In Taiwan however, private cram school teachers don't get vacation time, as the school is too busy siphoning off every last cent that the parentals earn. They wanna money. You no takey breaky.
3) I see your organic peppermint extravaganza and raise you a carton of 7-11 caramel-flavoured latte, with genuine milk substitutes (tastes like chicken).
4) To post unanonymously, you have to register to get a free profile. Then you could start blogging yourself (yes, a pun, my God, what's that doing right there in the middle of nowherefontein!).

I will try to comment more frequently (won't be difficult as have never done so before). Right, must now rush to relax. Yoga in 5.

Thoroughly delighted with the new-fangled milieu of communication available between us old hats.
I expect to be thoroughly virtually stalked online, capiche?!?!
Consider that an official memo.
