Yeah, I don't know why I used that for my subject. I just did.
ANYWAYS! (CAPS LOCK!)
Sometimes I find when I actually go and sit down at my computer I have trouble organizing my thoughts. Like, in school, and when I'm just...thinking, I have no problem reviewing the week's happenings. But when it comes to typing it up, I don't know. I'll try my best.
It's been a semi-eventful few days. Somehow I got all of JROP formed. I'll be voxanating, Gibbs is playing lead guitar, Stevie backing, Robyn Goblyn on bass-a-roo, and finally Jay as our drumasaurus. As there is a severely limited otaku count (tm) in Buffalo, I knew gigs were going to be hard to get. We'll probably be having intermediate small concerts for the club, but other than that, there are really no venues we could play where fans of the genre would show up.
So, naturally in my "oh...how did that happen?" antics, I ended up talking to the head of
Otakon. That's right, the largest con this side of the country. And the show was set up. Hopefully
Swek will be playing. Never-the-less, Mr. Dang would like it be a rather big thing, as in a battle of the bands. So if any of you know a band willing to play, please contact myself, or any of the other band members. Once jrop.com is up, you can find all email addresses there. Expect that domain in a few weeks at the most.
I'll be posting our pending set list soon, for any who are interested.
So let's see, I have to design that site, the club's site, and finish copying my coding onto all of the
other band's pages.
As far as devotion goes, I think pp is still my top priority, but JROP is a close second. Obviously more toward August they'll even out. However, speaking of
painted politics, we'll be playing with
switch 86 this december, so look for dates. Also, we were apparently in the Buffalo zine BEAST. And a big thanks to the
the tosspots for their kind comments of our playing at the two-day bender. We look forward to it next year.
What else...what else. Oh yeah, with the new company, PBG, coming to my dad's Pepsi plant, a lot of people have been laid off. He was offered a higher-position, and he took it, mainly as so he wouldn't be jobless. It wasn't one of those shady John Quincy Adams and Henry Clay deals. Despite this, his hours have increased to the point where he's barely at his house, and somehow his pay has decreased. So this past Saturday, he told my brother and me that he might resign. A job in the restaurant business or teaching might be looked into. I'm fully behind with this, believe it or not. I
