Tyler's Adventures Part 19

“I don’t think so.” Tyler replied.
“Damn it!” Chelsea cried out, “Cursed gummy trampoline-like surface! I hate thee!” and with that Chelsea stabbed the ground with her knife.
“Did you want to die?” Tyler asked, getting to his feet.
“Oh, yes.” Chelsea said with a nod, “I wanted to die with you so I wouldn’t be alone in death as I have been in life.”
Tyler stared at her, slightly unnerved by this statement, but, nevertheless, nothing was beginning to surprise him anymore.
Tyler offered her his hand and helped Chelsea to her feet.
Chelsea then set bowling pin child on the ground and looked around, “Where’s your cranky friend?” she asked.
“You mean Tuck?” Tyler asked.
“Yeah,” Chelsea stated with a nod.
“Good question.” Tyler said glancing around, “I hope he’s okay.”
“Well, if he was smart,” Chelsea stated crossing her arms, “Which I severely doubt, but if he was smart he would’ve moseyed on over to the nearest village.”
“And where’s that?” Tyler asked.
“Right over there.” She said pointing in the direction directly behind Tyler.
Tyler turned and sure enough he found a sign that had the words, ‘TRAMPOLINE HILLS: HOME OF THE CABBAGES’.
“Sounds like a country club.” Tyler commented.
Chelsea grunted in reply.
“Well, let’s go.” Tyler said walking toward the town with Chelsea following casually as well as the bowling pin child.
The town was as typical in appearance as any straw roofed community would be.
It was a quiet little town.
It was too quiet for Tyler’s tastes.
“This reminds me of Tuck’s village.” Tyler stated.
“I wouldn’t know.” Chelsea said vaguely.
Tyler glanced around the empty streets searching for any sign of life.
“What’s a country club?” Chelsea asked suddenly.
The absurdity of her question made Tyler laugh out loud, but he quickly stopped when he took notice of Chelsea’s glaring face.
He cleared his throat and said, “Well, a country club is where old people go to play golf.”
Chelsea stared at Tyler blankly and then reverted back her attention to the empty streets.
“Do you really think Tuck is here?” Tyler asked.
“I said if he was smart he would be.” Chelsea snapped, “And I also expressed my doubts about his intelligence.”
Tyler rolled his eyes and then shouted out, “Tuck!”
Tyler’s voice seemed to echo throughout the village, but no reply came.
