the bad kind of pickle
I'm in a bit of a financial pickle. My dad is being a jew (despite there being no jewish decent in our family line) in regards to money,... of course.
He took my taxes in and did them for me. Now, I've never done mine so I didn't know what to do, but I figured he'd bring me a paper to sign or something, but no. He handed me the check for my refund last night. My mom told me my dad's been in trouble with the IRA before, and he's even lied about something to get my car insurance lowered, so I've seen his sneakiness before. I told him next year I'm going with my mom to do my taxes, and he said "fine, but I'm not paying for your school then, she is." Which makes me think, he's gotta be up to something cuz if it's MY taxes, it shouldn't matter who I go with.
TO THE POINT: If anyone on my friendlist has information/tips regarding school GRANTS (free money) that'd be sweet. I can't claim independence I hear because they still check your parents income even if you're living out of state from them, so that's a no go. I'd really really appreciate it guys. I want to show my dad I'm not as stupid as he thinks I am... which I'm not.
