The restaurant that serves up rejected food

Today I read the article "The restaurant that serves up rejected food" that said about "Rub&Stub Restaurant" where try to reduce the amount of waste food by using food that super markets can not sell or do not want to.

This article make me realize that nowadays we face with the waste food crisis. There are large amount of waste food on our earth that make us concern about food shortage crisis in future because of increasing of population rapidly.

Effect of waste grain behavior of people in developed countries that can produce enough food for their population lead to excess waste food. For statistic, food that produced in the world become waste food about 30% or appoximately 1,300 million tons while billion of people are starving.

I think we use too much resources and it affect to environment. When we consume and waste a lot of resources, it may cause imbalance of nature. Another points, it will waste the resource that use to plant the food such as, soil, water, and energy. In addition waste food can cause the gas which can destroy atmosphere and it lead to global warming, air pollution, water pollution etc.

I really like the idea to reduce amount of waste food of Rub&Stub restaurant. They use the discarded food that received from the Danish National Food Bank to make the different menu depend on what products they have at hand for the day. I think this point can attract customers who want to help to reduce waste food and the customers will never get bored of getting the same courses over and over again.Another interesting point is all of staff in the restaurant are volunteers.

After read this, I look back to myself and I promise I will change my consumption behavior. I will not buy lots of food and I will try to eat every thing on my plate to reduce the waste food. ^^
