It's fucking rubbish
There's something the human race needs to realize, making a day/week/month special for a minority of people doesn't. do. shit.
well actually no it does something, it makes people feel good about themselves, it makes them think that just because they wore purple they have shown their support to a struggling minority, which makes them good people. I know too many who have forgotten about the issue these days represent the minute they wake up the next morning, or worse, felt like they've done their part.
How? By choosing the one shirt in your wardrobe that's definitely going to clash with the rest of your outfit for one day?
I think that's the part about this day I hate the most, people who woke up going "oh right it's this day, better find that purple cardigan I know I got... somewhere" Speak out, your mouth is capable of saying much more than your wardrobe. This fake sense of politeness got to stop at some point.
It's like Christmas all over again, I can't stand the "Spirit of Christmas" and the typical moral story with the "oh be nice, it's christmas after all"
No Fuck you, be nice and good to people the other 364 days too, not this hypocritical bullshit.
So I'm going to honest and say, no I haven't worn purple today. It doesn't matter and I frankly don't give a shit about those teens killing themselves, I can't be bothered even though I myself have been bullied with everything from sexuality to the number of freckles on my cheeks.
But I guess that's just me being a cynical sociopath.
