I really hoped that my first yoga practice of the new year would be yesterday. I had no motivation to get out of bed and do it. Stomach cramps, made me feel a bit miserable. This morning I lay in bed for about half an hour waiting for Tony to wake up all the while thinking I could be doing yoga. So in the end I dragged my lazy carcass down the stairs and did some yoga. I put on the tibetan bells music, the heater and lit the country linen candle.
So todays practice was a back bend session by Rodney Yee. I am not that great at back bends and by the end of the active work my back was beginning to ache and I was longing for a forward bend, but I followed the practice and did reclining bound angle pose and I felt great after it.
Warm up (Rodney leaves this for you to decide, today I did, 3 x Surya Namaskara A and 2 x Surya Namaskara B)
