Christening

Tony and I have been invited to the christening of one of his class mates little girl.  Of course I immediately thought it was a good excuse to knit the cute little baby dress that I spotted in Simply Knitting.  On close inspection I was a little unhappy with the pattern, the straps that went over the shoulder were stockinette stitch with no edging.  Which means they would go all curly, also where the neck had been shaped with casting off on different rows was a bit messy looking.  So I put on a crochet edging.  Go me!  I think it looks very cute and girly.

Baby dress

This is the baby dress pinned out to dry, very lightly blocking. Just to try and get the straps to lie flat.

Straps with crochet

This is a close up of the straps with the added crochet edging. I think they look a lot neater with a crochet edging rather than just the raw stocking stitch edge. Also this hides the messy casting off shaping.
