A quarter-speed all-star
It's been exactly 22 months since my last post. It won't be another 22 until I post again.
I just got back from hockey, the first game I'd played since August, and pretty much the last time I played with any consistency was in July before Fellowships. So it's been a while. We got to the rink early and I watched some of the game before us. Maybe it's been all of the minor-pro hockey I've been watching and covering, but the gameplay just seemed to crawl out there. When our game got out there, it really wasn't any different. My brother doesn't think there was much difference between the two teams, but when you're outshot something like 42-15, there has to be some kind of difference. In my opinion, the difference was that they had about 4 guys who could really play, whereas we had none, and we had no natural defensemen, so there were a lot of giveaways. I ended up playing an amazing game, but I feel that was partially because the gameplay seemed rather slow. Regardless, my instincts are still there, and I want to do this (playing goal that is) for as long as I can. I figure if I take care of my body, I can play at least another 10 years in goal. I've been playing goal pretty consistently since I was 8, so it's pretty much been a part of my life.
As for the itinerary for the flower business...still no idea. Apparently Adam and I are the only people at our hotel for the night, and we're all going to different hotels on different nights. I don't exactly know how we're supposed to pack clothes then since we're not going to be schlepping around a giant bag of luggage wherever we go. All I know is that someone will meet us at the airport in Newark. That's it. Oh, and I was given an American phone earlier today for business. The area code is like 347 or something...I have the number somewhere if anyone wants it. But it's with Verizon, so I guess I can call/receive calls across the U.S. as local calls, which would be nice, but again, it's for business. So I think I'm going to buy a phonecard for it, so that I can call people I want/receive calls on it too.
So tomorrow basically involves packing, haircut, getting supplies, and whatever else I've forgotten.
So yeah, I don't know how many still use this...but yeah, I'm back!
