It seems like every other person on LJ is listening to Franz Ferdinand these days. Of which I wholly approve, ever since falling in love with them a few months ago. It's weird, though, because they sound like an 80s band I missed out on while growing up in the great pop-cultural blackhole of 5305 Brookeway Drive, and so I forget that they're in fact super recent, that my favorite hits of theirs are from 2004, but still it all seems like there's some bizarre obscure Franz Ferdinand revival movement going on that I get all excited about because I can say "hey, I know that obscure band!" which really isn't obscure at all. How pathetic (and confusing), it's just them putting out their second album, but when I'm 40 and I get to launch a revival movement for them, it'll totally be a deja vu.

I work with parents who often have multiple children suffering from a particularly cruel fatal disease. Just a few moments ago, I learned that one of these mothers had a miscarriage a few months ago, a 40ish year old mother who is still hoping that a third child might get the chance to live past the age of 12.
That is just the ultimate in raw pits.
