1) I was finally transferred to the "right" advisor. So everything's OK and now I can apply for a grant.

2) There will finally be an official release party for my book (my dissertation). It will be in one of the best bookstores in São Paulo, in the end of the month.

Double Yay!

I have completed the credits necessary for my PhD. Now I have to wait until my situation with my advisor is resolved, that is, until there is a vacancy, which will happen next March. Then I'll be able to apply for a grant or scholarship. I can hardly wait!

Tomorrow my classes will start, and the final proofs of my book will arrive (YAY!), so I may disappear again for a few days. (But not right now. Starting tomorrow afternoon, I think.)

The book was released, everything went fine. The auditorium was full to capacity, the panel discussion was OK. My presentation was very well received.

I'm exhausted. And my classes have started... I need a break!

My very generous friend sioban_parker sent me a packet containing four books in French, in order to help me to study for the admission exam to the PhD program.

If everything goes fine, I'll be applying for a PhD program next year. Then I'll have to pass an exam in a language other than English or Portuguese. The obvious choice is French. So...
