emmagrant01 has a post explaining how to make the cross-posting to Facebook/Twitter more difficult. It doesn't prevent cross-posting completely. Those who choose to view their comments in their own journal style will still be able to cross-post.
I don't know whether this is working or not, because I never turned on the "Facebook/Twitter Connect". I hope it's working. Please let me know if it's not.
