Thursday inanities

It's not a cold, as my body has no aches or fevers (though I've never had a real fever in my life). It shouldn't be allergies, as I don't have those either (except poison ivy). Yet something did in my sinuses yesterday, and then today gave me a light cough. This is grumpy making, as I have to much to do to be wheezing and moaning. And it is supposed to be legs day at the gym. And I hate missing it because my obsessive compulsive traits go ballistic at the thought of losing momentum. Even one day off out of schedule and I feel sure that I will never go again and get lazy. This is how my neurosis works. So we'll see - I think I'll just wait until later when the gym is empty so I can go wheeze in peace and disturb no one, and see what I can do.

Obsessive right now, you ask? Why, yes. Yes I am.

I've been pumping out work all day as it is budget season (otherwise known as "Why flying spaghetti monster, why do you hate me so much?"). While I get to have fun with this, hubby is about to jet-set off to Amsterdam and London for a week and a half on a "buying trip" for work. This means tons of high priced shopping, lovely lunchies, delicious dinners, and fine hotels.

I get to shovel cat poop.

Hopefully the sneezing and wheezing will have passed by the weekend, as I need to do fun things to make up for the fine time the hubby will be off having. Did I mention he might make a side trip to Paris as well? Yeah. It's a hard life in fashion. They never get to do anything fun. Me, I just hope for pretty men with loose morals and just a tad of alcohol to loosen their inhibitions. And me, like a cheetah on the Serengeti, looking for the stragglers in the herd of wildebeest, ready to take them down with a leap and a chomp.

I'm reading a fairly disappointing collection of short stories "inspired by Lovecraft." Honestly, I love these type of compilations, but this one seems to have been written by uninspired adults with third grade educations and no sense of drama and terror. I will struggle through in hope of a gem out of the book, but really, people, with a title like Lovecraft Unbound I expect far more. And so far, no tentacles.

I like tentacles.

Well, it is about time to decide if I can brave the gym. Happy Thursday!
