Peekaboo, I see you!

Different realms of existence should rarely, if ever, cross-pollinate. The resulting hybrids are often quite bizarre, bear little resemblance to either parent, and are usually sterile. Much like horse + mule = donkey, or a hybrid rose that produces no seeds, some things may fit together but often don't result in a fully functioning object ( Read more... )

Isn't it odd how suddenly-freaked some people get, at the realization they've met you in person before?

Guilty feelings on their part, I suppose.

Several years ago, I was chatted-up by an entity with an attractive photo. We spent a few days talking, and in a moment of personal weakness, I decided we should meet. When I arrived, a man who musth have been 400 lbs squeezed through the door of his trailer to greet me. I ask if "Chris" was there; he says, "Hi, I'm Chris."

At which point, my stare went blank, I told him I had made a horrible mistake, pivoted on my heel, got in the truck, and left. Honesty, I feel, is the best policy. congrats.

but turned out to have no noticeable personality in real life and, in one case, was only there to try and get his hands on Mr. Happy.

It was die7fox, wasn't it? I knew it.

Hee.

It will be interesting to run into him again at the store, and see how he reacts

I am dying to hear how this goes.

Re: Match.com God - there are so many variables which could have made him react that way, and I don't think your looks or your profile accuracy necessarily were what set him off. If he was in a bad mood he could have been reaching any "reason" whatsoever to get him out of there ( ... )

People are so mysterious.

And I am sure the boys at the gym are desperately searching for you online ;)

Rare as it is that I meet someone from online, I always worry that I'm going to disappoint them in person. So far, so good, but like you I just don't understand the lying about your appearance to someone you'll meet in person.

Re: your big scaredy-cat - do you think he's stupid? What's the point in running away after he'd been clocked?

I can't ever see you disappointing anyone.

As to big boy running away - I can't guess what he is thinking. Perhaps he is on the down low in his relationship, and is afraid of getting caught.
