"The reason I went for the LX3 is"...... because Beverly bought one and I want to be just like her.

And you should've gotten the silver one and blinged it up for her!

The double exposure function is fun. Try it on our next meet up.

Haven't tried the multiple exposure settings. Usually I never touch all the fancy and creative settings... I'm boring that way! Heh...

Oh.. i've heard so much about how good this camera is! is it good? is it good? I'm getting increasingly impatient with my ixus. Its great when i'm taking pictures on a big bright sunny day, but sucks in low light conditions...I'm so itching to replace it.. n i heard this is like a dslr, just more compact! great for me to bring around!

Well so far in bright daylight it looks the same as pretty much any modern compact digital. But so far in dim light... I'll get back to you on that one. From the brief look I've seen it is still noisier than I would like, but it does have a much faster lens.

Pound for pound, iso for iso, the pic quality is still similar enough to other compact digitals, but the great thing is that you can now get away with shooting at a lower ISO than other compacts would be able to given the exact same circumstances.

It's like a DSLR in the sense that it has the functionality and control scheme of a DSLR, but in terms of pic quality, unless lighting is optimal it still has a way to go in terms of dim-low light photography. But with bright daylight, you can get a better depth of field than other compacts (background blurring effect). Just a point to note, won't fit in a clutch! :)

Yeah it's far less bulky than the G10, however the problem is with the stupid lens cap that you have to take on and off everytime you shoot. It's so annoying! But we're replacing it with an aftermarket one that you don't have to take off. Hopefully that works better...
