Cure Natural Aqua Gel

Okay, this is another one of those posts which is going to make me sound like a rampant homosexual but it's just that good that I don't care. Erica bought a bottle of this just yesterday and I swear it's the best thing since decentralized file sharing, or just bread, if you didn't understand what I just said.

We were at Meidi-Ya just yesterday when Erica saw a sample bottle of Cure Natural Aqual Gel at the pharmacy there. Cure is an exfoliant gel that's used to exfoliate the skin on your face. She got suckered in by all the claims that it's the best selling this and that in Japan and decided to give it a shot.

Naturally, I was thinking "Sucker!!!" when she took one to the purchasing counter. What it is is a gel that gently exfoliates your skin without grains or beads or tiny little nano men with chainsaws. She had no idea how it worked, just that it sounded cool.

Now for me, I have ultra sensitive skin that is prone to eczema breakouts, as had happened on the weekend. The idea of exfoliating my extra sensitive face is about as appealing as sending my penis for micro dermabrasion treatment or an acid peel. That is to say, not very appealing at all. In fact my face would probably be apeeling all over after... ahahaha... get it? See what I did there? Oh hell you wouldn't know funny if it bit you in the a.....

Annnyway, after dinner with my grandparents last night I decided to go home whilst Erica went out to meet her girly friends. I was bored and started reading the bottle. My logic was that Eczema is usually just your skin not having enough moisture, and that all hell just breaks loose as a result and girls start screaming and slapping away at you when you try to touch them. Yes... it's purely because of the blotchy skin. Otherwise we both know that they'd want my wandering hands....

To continue with my particular brand of flawed logic, I figured that if I rid myself of the dry, damaged, surface skin, then naturally new skin would be stimulated to grow and any moisturiser that I put on would be absorbed straight into the new epidermis. There'd be no excess dry skin cockblocking that wonderful nourishing moisturising goodness from getting through to where it's needed the most.

The problem is, my skin is so sensitive, exfoliating my face by conventional means would be like me masturbating with a handful of broken fiberglass. So I researched this Cure Natural Aqua Gel and was quite surprised by what I found.

Basically, the core ingredient in Cure is water. In fact, it's 90% water. Unlike other acid based gels, this one has no AHA or Alpha Hydroxy Acids. What happens is that the gel reacts to the protein in your dead skin and just washes it off. Whilst with the acid based gels, once the deal skin is gone it still affects your skin, with Cure once the dead skin is gone nothing happens.

And so with a deep breath, and because I was bored and curious at the same time (a dangerous combination), I gave it a shot. I cleansed, I put on the gel, I waited the 10 seconds, then I slowly rubbed it off. And can I say... OMG.... this stuff is friggin' fantastic. Most things that I put on my face will result in a very slight burning sensation but not this at all. This was basically just rubbing thickened water on my face (no dirty jokes thank you very much!). There was no sensation at all which is great. After 10 seconds, I gently rub off the dead skin. It all easily balls into little bits and gets rinsed off.

Holy crap, my face feels like the ass of a 10 year old boy! No wait... by that, I actually meant an 18 year old girl. I don't need that damn judge all over my ass again. I couldn't believe how smooth my skin felt and I actually went through no pain whatsoever to get it! For my hypersensitive skin, this is absolutely unbelievable! And after putting on my moisturizer my skin felt so much better for so much longer!

And the entire day today my skin just felt fantastic! The bottle says to use twice a week but I figured what the hell, and used it again tonight. Awww man... this is truly an elixir from the heavens.... this stuff is just incredible!

So there you go, it's not often I get this excited over something that I didn't just download off the internet, but it's that fantastic that I just have to go on about it like a schoolgirl. Will probably make bugger all difference to you if you have the skin of a normal person, but if you've got eczema or sensitive skin.... this stuff is gold. Give it a shot :) Available at Watsons... apparently.

Those zany Japs have done it again...
