NYC: Day 2

Jun 28, 2002 21:22

New York is more bizarre than a foreign country, I swear. There are SO many people walking around, each one with their own weird agenda, casually strolling through the weirdest city on the planet. Since our hotel is in Times Square, all I have to do is walk out the front door to experience said weirdness. It's funny, you can easily spot the tourists because they don't "flow" with the crowd on the sidewalks. Plus, quite a few of them wear "I *heart* NY" shirts, no shit.

Today we slept in until about 1pm, which I desperately needed. So we woke up, took showers, and ambled on down to this deli around the corner to breakfast on muffins, fruit smoothies and fruit. We kinda walked around Times Square for a bit poked into random shops, nothing too special. My sisters boyfriends band played tonight, so we had to meet up with their manager to figure out how to get in, as the show was sold out. Turns out all we had to do was carry this 60lbs box of posters, wear Damnaged t-shirts and hand out flyers at the door =) Hehehe it was pretty fun though, they rocked pretty hard to a decent sized crowd. So after that my dad and I cruised around Times Square some more, ate some fast food and then came back to the hotel. I'm gonna go walk around by myself for a bit right now, so I'll be back later!
