Ahhhhhh, what a day. I'm typing this update on my laptop, sitting on a bed in a hotel in Times Square called The Time. It's hot, muggy, and very rainy outside, but our room is nice and air conditioned =) Where to begin?
Wednesday evening
Sylwia came over to help me get ready, which involved me packing up my minimal travel gear, then us going to the Northgate mall and picking out some new shorts and a t-shirt for me. WOO HOO! Buying new clothes can be fun, especially with sweetie =) So then we "chilled" at my place for a bit before heading to my dads around 11pm. Yadda yadda yadda, sweetie dropped us off at the airport around 4:30-5am (thank you sweetie!!), and we proceeded to wait in line after line of security/baggage/everything screenings before finally boarding our plane. The flight wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the fact that the seats were nearly impossible to sleep in. I didn't sleep at all wednesday night, thinking I would just sleep on the 5.5 hour flight to New York, but I ended up sleeping for maybe 1.5 hours, and even then it wasn't very useful sleep. Our flight actually landed about 1.5 hours late, putting us at 6:30pm New York time, 3:30 Seattle time, and 33:30 hours of no sleep for Eric.
Ahhhhh, New York. Hot, muggy, weird. We took a cab to the hotel we booked online, but as soon as we drove up we were immediately wary. First of all it was right next to a peep-show/adult video store, and the place was just fucking creepy all around. So we ditched that place and went to the hotel that my sisters boyfriend is staying in, called The Time, a block away from Times Square. MUCH nicer =) So we moved in here, got settled in a bit, I played with dialup on my laptop (can't break 26.4kbps, lame), then my dad and I grabbed a burger at Texas Texas in Times Square. We're all pretty fucking tired about now, so I'm about to sign off and catch my first real sleep in over 36 hours. Back tomorrow!!
