Oh, wow.

I just snuck-read this while hiding from my visiting family (!). I need time to really comment, but don't want the day to go by without telling you - Bellisima, bb. :)

A whole bunch more later. <3

Ha! Same sister! I <3 that you remember that, you little cheeky. ;)

Since I was at home, rather than out in the world, it went down more like this:

"Brb - cuppa." ::hovering over my I-Touch near the kettle::

Busted in the kitchen. Did make the tea, though.

A little while later ... "Brb - I need to find ... some socks." ::sneaks off to bedroom, cleverly stands with back to door in front of open sock drawer ( ... )

I really liked the way you acknowledge that the Doctor can love Rose and River too. In my mind, it's his love for Rose that opens him up so that he can love River later. I think the Doctor has a great potential for love that he's spent most of his life running from.... so I'm happy that after he loses (or gives) Rose to Ten2, he has River to look forward to. :)

I like your characterization of Twelve. She's great -- and I love that she walks away hand in hand with River. :)

Yeah, I share your opinion about the Doctor/River relationship. I love love love love Doctor/Rose to itty bitty bits, but I absolutely do not subscribe to the OTP thing. To me that would mean that the Doctor would never be free to fall for anyone else and that if he/she ever did, it would be practically meaningless compared to his/her love for Rose. Clinging to the OTP idea would mean that if people were married and then lost their spouse, if they remarried somehow their new loves would be less important than their former relationship, or conversely--their first loves were rotten and they found true love once they finally died. This is a very immature view on the nature of love and relationships--almost a Disneyfied concept of "Happily ever after." Truth is, people die (or get sucked into parallel universes--lol), and people must grieve the loss and move on. The Doctor needs to do this even more by virtue of the fact that he/she is (mostly) immortal. Doesn't seem very fair to love one girl for a few years and then be doomed in the ( ... )

you're welcome, I thought she'd be able to help. It's always worth asking your f-list about stuff like that, between us we have quite an assortment of specialised knowledge it seems

I know that the greater story continues, but as far as this 5-part interlude is concerned, what an amazing conclusion! Diving into my favorite bits (this could take a while) ...

“Correct me if I’m wrong, maniacal tin man,” HEE!

Am I right? I’m right aren’t I?”
“He loves it when he’s right… He’s right, isn’t he?” She turned to the other Doctor, “I think you’re right…” She grinned at him, pulling on her earlobe.

-- YAY! Another episode of Pinstripes and Jacquard is back on the telly! This is my new favorite show, although I'm a-feared it's going to be cancelled before its time ... p.s. I like her little earlobe tug - it's so Ten. :D

... give your lovely hosts a doggie bag of humanity ... *gigglesnort*

I loved that in those last moments before the paradox broke, the two Doctors held each other up. *sniff*

Three cheers for the Calvalry! :D :D :D

The two Doctors remained standing apart on the pavements, feeling reality punching a hole through their own existences-one filled with questions, the other filled with discomfort. I ( ... )

Oooh, golly! I love that Dickens quote!! I don't even really like Dickens, but I'm lovin' that quote!!

And it HAS to be all sizzly and touching and heartfelt or else it will not hurt so much in the end! And now, here's one of my favorite quotes:

"I've done far worse than kill you, I've hurt you. And I wish to go on hurting you..."
'Fraid it's not as literary as yours... Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn
