Has it been that long? For shame, mareep!
I've begun to settle more into my new place in Somerville, but I am beginning to realize I don't have a strong sense of 'home', and haven't since college. Since I left high school, I've lived in at least twelve places not counting dorms. That's about a new place every year. I've learned how to shed physical objects like clothes and many books but could probably slough off more- will give away some costuming, and there are a whole bunch of random things (candles, office supplies, converter cables, cotton balls, decks of cards, etc) that if I don't use this year I'll probably give away/trash. I've also begun to scan in old documents for record-keeping, because paper is heavy. I have too many notebooks/journals that are a third used. More tote and messenger bags than necessary.
Let's start with this- Does anyone want a messenger bag labeled HighEdWeb, a spiral notebook with flower stencils on the plastic cover, or the Richard K. Morgan book Thirteen? How about a set of dry-erase markers? A wide-ruled Mead-style notebook with a squirrel on it? I think I'll continue looking around for things people might have more use for. The next space saver thing I'm doing is getting mini cases for my Nintendo DS games so I can file them.
And maybe at the end I will find my microphone which I seem to have lost in the move.
Possibly relatedly, I just remembered I was being too hard on myself for not accomplishing "enough" creative stuff. Eating, sleeping, cooking, commuting, paperwork/paying bills, answering emails, exercising, getting car repaired, getting self checked up and tuned and repaired- that all takes a great deal of time! I looked at my 'personal projects' list and it's shorter than I thought. Matters tend to loom over me more if I don't distill them into the written.
